IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John C.
Dolbin
November 5, 1939 – October 18, 2019
John C. Dolbin, just 2 weeks shy of his 80 th birthday, went home to the arms of the Lord (which ironically is his Mother's maiden name) on Friday, October 18, 2019, due to complications of pneumonia. John was raised in the coal mining town of Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania and traveled back "home" very frequently to visit family and friends. Right after high school graduation John joined the United States Air Force which provided him the background and skills to become a top rated mechanic and eventually foreman for his beloved Delta Air Lines for 45+ years.
If there was a good time to be had, you could bet John would be in the thick of things. He devoted his life to keeping up with his extended family and all his many childhood friends and Delta Air Lines cronies. He provided his family with a loving (but strict) home. He offered his time as a coach to Little League and football and was very successful. He also did a stint with Indian guides, Knights of Columbus and other activities within the community. Wise beyond his education, people of all walks to life sought his counsel. What an opinion? John certainly had one!! Think of all the good stories and remember John with a smile.
His full and wonderful life will forever be cherished by his surviving children, Robyn Dolbin Chaisson of Massachusetts, Michael and his wife Brenda Dolbin of Maryland, Jody and Tammy Dolbin of Texas, Timmy and Daneta Dolbin also of Texas, and Tracey and Scott Cothran of Maryland and his companion, Jane Wendling of Maryland. He also leaves behind his ten grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, his loving brother Robert of Pennsylvania, sisters, Nancy Thompson and Shelley Smith of Pennsylvania, nieces and nephews and a slew of friends that were extremely proud to call him "friend." He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 53 years, Kathy Dolbin, parents Lorraine and Robert Dolbin, two daughters, Michele and Casey Dolbin, and brothers, Thomas and James.
Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-8pm at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care, P.A., 495 Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park, MD, 21146.
