John E. Codd, Jr., 68, of Edgewater, died on July 16, 2009, at Anne Arundel Medical Center, due to heart failure.

He was born on January 13, 1941 in Annapolis, and raised in Severna Park where he resided for most of his life.

Mr. Codd graduated from St. Mary's High School in Annapolis and the University of Baltimore. He was a salesperson in the automotive industry.

He enjoyed sports and was a Baltimore Ravens and Maryland Terps Fan. He also had served as a volunteer with the Greater Severna Park Athletic Association Green Hornets.

He was preceded in death by his late parents, John E. Codd, Sr. and Ethel G. Codd and his late wife, Mary Sue Codd, who died in 2003.

Survivors include two sons, John E. "Dusty" Codd, III of Edgewater, MD and Rick Codd of McLean, VA; one brother, Michael Codd of Arnold, MD; and one granddaughter.

Family and friends may visit on Friday, July 24 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Gov. Ritchie Hwy, in Severna Park.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 25 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
Interment will be private.
