John E. Branham, "Johnnie" born on June 24, 1934 in Amherst County, VA died August 15, 2012 during his sleep in his home near Port Republic, MD, of conditions related to heart failure and type II diabetes exacerbated by a fall on the job in the summer of 2011.
He was born to James B. Branham and Carsia Branham in Virginia, and moved to Glen Burnie, MD in 1950, where he married V. Patricia Sappington in 1953. He worked as a dump truck driver for a local company, Boston Metals, Inc., then opened a propane gas delivery business, a Sinclair gas station, and finally was the business owner and contractor for Branham Well Drilling on Hog Neck Road. He lived in Pasadena, in Stevensville on Kent Island in Queen Anne's County, and more recently living near Port Republic in Calvert County.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Pat Branham, his 2nd wife, Shirley Smith Branham, his brothers, sister Ella Mae Branham Mays, stepson, Daniel Wharf, grandson, Paul Beam. He is survived by his wife, Lucille Branham; daughters, Deborah Stotelmyer of Sharpsburg, MD, and Janice Beam of Glen Burnie, son John H. of Lusby, MD and Johnnie's 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren in their families, as well as adopted children Carol Jean Branham Seigert of Olney, MD, Sandy Branham Milligan , and Michael Greer Branham , and their children, stepdaughter, Annette Smith, and stepsons Rick Wharf and his 5 children, and Ed Wharf, and his 2 children. He is also survived by his sister Louis Branham of Amherst, VA and brothers Gene Branham and his half-brother of Lynchburg, VA and James Branham of, MD.
He was a Mason, a former member of the National Association of Well Drillers, a former member of the Sheriff's Association.
A viewing will be held from 11 AM – 12:00 PM, followed by a service at noon on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park, MD 21146.
