John Alva Bondurant, Jr. of Arapahoe, NC, passed away on February 8, 2019 at the University of Maryland Medical Center. He was born on May 19, 1940 to John A. Bondurant, Sr. and Dorothy D. Bondurant in Virginia and was raised in Virginia Beach. He attended Oscar Smith High School in Chesapeake, VA, then moved on to attend the College of William and Mary. Over the course of an honorable US Naval career he lived in Topsham, ME, North Kingstown, RI, and Key West FL. John loved all things in nature, especially water.

John is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Shirley T. Bondurant; two daughters, Donna Drouin of Portsmouth, VA, and Danna Thelen of Swan Point, MD; his son John A. Bondurant III of Bradenton, FL, his brother Rush Norfleet Bondurant of VA Beach, VA; as well as 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
