John William Blocher, 83, of Severna Park, passed away Sunday, October 13, 2013.
He was born to the late Henry and Rachael Blocher, February 18, 1930 in Connelsville, PA. John graduated from St. John's High School in 1948. He married his beloved JoAnn DeCarlucci in 1958; they were married for 52 years. John was a manager for the G.C. Murphy Co. for over 40 years.
John served in the U.S. Army stationed in Germany during the Korean Conflict.
John is survived by his three daughters, Elizabeth Blocher-McCabe and husband Michael; Jacquelyn Blocher-Moran and husband Matthew; and Stephanie Peltzer and husband Alan. He also is survived by three grandchildren, Luke and Owen Moran and Sophia Peltzer.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to St. Andrew By the Bay Catholic Church in Arnold, MD.
A Viewing will be held Thursday, October 17 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy, in Severna Park. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, October 18, 2013 at 9 AM at St. Andrew By the Bay Catholic Church, 701 College Parkway, Annapolis, MD 21409.
Burial will take place following the funeral at Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville, MD.
