JoAnne Claire McGillvrey Marshall, 75, passed away suddenly on December 18, 2010. She was a resident of Arnold Md. for over 31 years and previously a 20 year resident of Glen Burnie, Md.

Born on April 30, 1935, JoAnne was raised in Wolsey, S.D. She was the valedictorian of her high school class. After her marriage to Robert G. Marshall of Wessington, S.D. in 1956, JoAnne moved to California and then to Maryland in 1960.

JoAnne loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed decorating cakes, gardening, knitting, and was an avid Oriole fan since 1990 and season ticket holder. In her later years, she enjoyed playing slots.

JoAnne is survived by her husband of 54 years, Robert G. Marshall, son Todd A. Marshall; two daughters Paige A. Hering and her husband Daniel Sr. of Annapolis, Md., and Britt A. Marshall of Glen Burnie, Md.; five grandchildren Dan Jr., Khristofer, Blair and Garritt Hering, and Chelsey Marshall. JoAnne is also survived by one brother Dean McGillvrey and two sisters Jacqueline Jager of Huron, S.D., and Marjorie Van Den Berg of Meridian, ID.

A memorial service will begin at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 7, 2011 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 308 Oak Manor Drive, Glen Burnie, Md. Family interment is in Md. Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville, Md.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church Building fund were she had been a member since 1960.
