Joanne Francis of Millersville, MD died March 18th from complications of dementia.  She and her twin sister Jeanne Larson were born in New Castle, PA. to the late Bessie and Ruben Miller.

She is survived by her husband Jim of 60 years, a son William List, granddaughter Tiffany Smeltzer, a grandson Michael List and a great grandson Christian Maxwell.

After graduation, Joanne did secretarial work in New Castle, PA, then joined the Women's Army Corp where she met her husband, Jim.  Later they settled in Severna Park MD, and for years was a real estate agent for Champion Realty.

She liked water/snow skiing and sailing with her husband on the Chesapeake Bay.  As a member of the Annapolis Yacht Club, she participated for many years on the Wednesday Night Race Committee.  One of her favorite pastimes was gambling at Dover Downs and Maryland Live.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday April 20, 2024 from 1:00pm-4:00pm at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care,P.A. 495 Ritchie Hwy Severna Park, MD 21146.
