Joan R. Jordan, 80, a resident of Arnold, died on September 18, 2013, at MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Washington DC.

She was born on October 7, 1932 in Johnstown, PA and married her husband, William Jordan in 1950. She came to Brooklyn Park where she and her husband lived for 2 years before moving to Arnold, MD, where she lived in the same house for 60 years.

Joan was an administrative assistant at Westinghouse for over 25 years. She worked as a Supply Clerk and Data Entry at the USNA Midshipmen Store since 1989.

She enjoyed reading and working on crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed spending time at her granddaughter's restaurant, Zandi's Grill in Millersville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Jordan, in 2005; son, Ricky A. Jordan; brother, Willard Virgin; and sisters, Vera Himes, and Elva Noel.

She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Lee Painter of Arnold and Sharon Jordan Grier of Ellicott City; one son, William Joseph Jordan of Arnold; fifteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter.

Family and friends may visit on Friday, September 20, 2013 from 5-8 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy in Severna Park. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Brooklyn Park.
