Joan Capecelatro Esposito passed into a state of grace on February 6th, 2016 at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center surrounded by her family.

She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Captain James A. Esposito, Sr. (Ret.) and her six loving children: Beth Alice Esposito; James A. Esposito, Jr. and wife Tess; Donna Sengelaub and husband George; Arnold J. Esposito and wife Christina; John M. Esposito and wife Maureen; and Regina Morgan and husband Lee and eleven grandchildren.

Joan was born in Utica, New York on September 25, 1932 to Arnold Capecelatro and Alice Cotter Capecelatro. Her mother, father, step mother (Isabelle Capecelatro) and sister (Priscilla Sonia) preceded her in death.

Joan graduated from the University of Rochester, Strong Memorial School of Nursing in 1954. In 1955 she married her high school sweetheart, James A. Esposito.

Joan was a devoted and faithful wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, nurse and friend to all who knew her. Thank you, Mom, for your love and sacrifice. We will miss you and look forward to when we are all once again together as a family.

The family will accept visitors on Thursday, February 11th from 4pm – 8pm at Barranco and Sons Funeral Home in Severna Park, Maryland. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in downtown Annapolis on Saturday, February 13th at 9am. Internment will occur later this spring at Arlington National Cemetery.
