Joan Lillian Clarke, 74, a resident of Severna Park for 35 years, died Sept. 16 at the Anne Arundel Medical Center after a six-month illness.
Born March 20, 1933, in Miami, Fla., Mrs. Clarke was reared in South Glens Falls, N.Y., and formerly lived in Pittsburgh, Pa. She was a homemaker and member of Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church in Millersville.
An avid quilter, she also enjoyed knitting and gardening. She was active with the South County Senior Center in Edgewater.
Surviving are her husband, Robert E. Clarke; three sons, Robert E. Clarke Jr. of Alexandria, Va., John F. Clarke of Pasadena and Thomas Andrew Clarke of Arnold; one daughter, Linda Joan Clarke of Exton, Pa.; and four grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Robert Usher.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church, 1070 Cecil Ave., Millersville, with burial in the church cemetery.
