Jo Beth Ireland passed away peacefully on December 27, 2024, after a lengthy illness.

She was born on October 15, 1948 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania to Curtis E. Long and Parthene (neé Geibe) Long. She grew up in Lititz, PA and graduated from Warwick High School before going on to earn her Bachelor's degree from Union College in Barbourville, Kentucky. It was there she met Bob and a love affair began that lasted 58 years. Following graduation she and Bob moved to Nashville where she taught and coached. They lived in Millersville Maryland before moving to Annapolis in 1994.

Jo Beth loved her family, and was a wonderfully caring wife, mother and grandmother. She was an active member at Calvary United Methodist Church and was happiest when entertaining and hosting her friends and family. She was an active supporter of Bello Machre.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Dr. Robert T. Ireland of Annapolis, MD; her two sons Shane C. Ireland (Stacey) of Charlotte, NC and Judd R. Ireland (Kristy) of Bethesda, MD; her three grandchildren Logan, Aidan, and Nathan; and her sister Jennie Todd (Barry) of Lititz, PA.

A Memorial Service to celebrate Jo Beth's life will be held at 11am on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at Calvary United Methodist Church, 301 Rowe Blvd, Annapolis. A reception will follow the service at The Severn Inn, 1993 Baltimore-Annapolis Blvd., Annapolis, MD.
