James W. Jernigan, 55, a 28 year resident of Riviera Beach, died on March 7, 2011 of natural causes after a five month illness.
He was born on July 05, 1955 in Baltimore, and was raised in Severna Park. Jim graduated from Severna Park High School in 1973 and attended business classes at Anne Arundel Community College. He previously lived in the Linstead Community in Severna Park prior to moving to Pasadena.
Mr. Jernigan was the Founder of Jernigan Concrete Pumping which he established in 1988.
He was a member of Chesapeake Bay Power Boat Association, Associated Builders and Contractors, and American Concrete Pumping Association.
Jim loved PIL (the love of his life), fishing, boating, and riding motorcycles. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert A. and Joann G. Jernigan and one brother, Joseph C. Jernigan.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sharon K. Jernigan (Habel); his children, Jaime Yozsa (Paul Yozsa) of Orchard Beach, Janice Howlin (Bobby Howlin) of Riva, Jimmy Jernigan (Dawn Jernigan) of Stoney Beach; grandchildren, Julia Howlin, Paul Yozsa, Jr., and Peyton Jernigan; brother, John Jernigan of Pasadena; and sister, Jan Joines of Gurnee, IL. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 12 from 11-4 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy in Severna Park. A Funeral Service will be held at 4 pm, following the visitation.
