Jim Cockrell, 52, a 29 year resident of Pasadena, died on July 23, 2011, due to complications from a motorcycle accident.

He was born June 21, 1959 in Baltimore, raised in Lansdowne, and graduated from Lansdowne Senior High School in 1977. He owned Cockrell & Son Construction Company.

He enjoyed fishing and he was involved in the motocross community.

He was a treasured friend and family member to all who knew him. Always there for everyone who needed his support or help.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Alton and Helen Cockrell.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Cockrell (nee Giuliano); son, James Philip Cockrell of Pasadena; daughter, Jade Leigh Cockrell of Pasadena; and sisters, Patricia and Matthew Messenger of Lansdowne, Geraldine Brenkman of Newport News, VA, and Jacqueline Brown of Pensacola, FL. He was the son-in-law of Joan and Sam Giuliano of Ocean City, MD and brother-in-law of Jerry and Debby Remenapp of Stevensville, Danny and Gail Griffin of Arnold, Sam and Ginger Giuliano of Centreville. Also, survived by many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 27 from 5-8 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy in Severna Park. A Memorial Mass will be offered on Thursday, July 28, 2011 at 11:30 am at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 689 Ritchie Hwy in Severna Park. Interment will be private.
