Jennifer Woodward, 72, died peacefully on June 20, 2020, at Hospice of the Chesapeake in Pasadena, Maryland. A resident of Glen Burnie, MD, she moved there from Richmond, VA, where she was employed at the Virginia Department of the Environment as an Administrative and Office Specialist for 17 years before retiring February 1, 2019.
Jennifer was born in Coldwater, Michigan on August 6, 1947, to Horace and Margaret Woodward. Because of her father's US Navy career, Jennifer lived in many different places including Bermuda and London, England before the family settled in Williamsburg, VA and she later moved to Richmond.
In addition to her parents, Jennifer was preceded in death by brother-in-law Sol Packer. She is survived by her siblings Candace Woodward of Brooklyn, NY, Scott Woodward (Lou) of The Villages, FL, Chris Woodward of Brooklyn, NY, Juliet Volosin (Jeff) of Crofton, MD and Lisa Duan (Jinyuan) of Glen Burnie as well as niece Rebecca Volosin, nephews Todd Woodward (Jen), Jeremy Woodward, and Joseph Volosin and grand-nephew Daniel Woodward.
Jennifer attended Barnard College and the University of Michigan and graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University.
She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, visiting historic sites and museums, taking walks, and listening to National Public Radio.
A memorial service will be private. She will be cremated and at a later date interred at Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn, NY.
Contributions in Jennifer's memory may be made to the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond.
