Jennifer Mary Russell (nee: Silk), 50, a longtime resident of Annapolis and Arnold passed away at her home on January 21, 2019 surrounded by her loving family.
Jennifer was born to her parents, Charles and Kathleen Silk on August 15, 1968 in Huntingdon Valley, PA. Raised in Arnold, she attended St. John the Evangelist School, graduating in 1982, and later graduated from Archbishop Spalding High School in 1986. She earned a degree in Communications from Towson State University, graduating in 1990.
Jennifer worked as a Claims Representative for Nationwide Insurance for several years and later was employed as an Independent Consultant with MEDI. She also thoroughly enjoyed working at St. John the Evangelist School as an Assistant Librarian.
Jennifer had a passion for sports. In high school, she played field hockey, basketball and lacrosse. She later coached field hockey and lacrosse for Annapolis High School and Archbishop Spalding High School and started the field hockey and lacrosse programs for the middle school at St. Johns. Her happiest times, however; were spent on the sidelines proudly cheering on her two sons in their various sports, as well as, volunteering at their schools.
Family meant the world to Jennifer. Every year she looked forward to traveling to the Outerbanks with her entire family. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends at Lake Anna. She will be remembered for her joyous laugh and her devotion to family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 27 years, John A. Russell; her sons, Nicholas and Spencer Russell; her parents, Charles and Kathleen Silk; her sisters, Suzanne Rainey (Jack), Maureen Creel (Paul), and Caroline Harman (Paul); her brother, Eric Silk (Danielle); her sister-in-laws, Debbie Reisett (Doug) and Andrea Cooper (Daryl); numerous nieces and nephews; as well as, her faithful companion, Silky, the family's yellow Labrador Retriever.
A memorial visitation will be held from 4:00 to 5:30 and 6:30 to 8:00 on Friday, January 25 th at St. John the Evangelist Church, 689 Ritchie Hwy. Severna Park. A Memorial Mass will be offered at the Church on Saturday, January 26 th at 2:00 PM.
