Jeffrey Morgan Scott
Mr. Jeffrey Morgan Scott, 51, died on October 14 th at the Hospice of the Chesapeake after a sudden illness. Jeffrey was born on September 17, 1966 to the late Donald and Mary Lou Scott. He grew up in the Ben Oaks community in Severna Park where he enjoyed boating with his family and swimming in Scott's Pond.
Jeffrey graduated from the Ruth P. Eason School and then spent 30 happy years working at the Providence Center Woodshop. For the last 17 years, he lived in a Gallagher group home sponsored by Catholic Charities. During that time, he was blessed by outstanding caregivers who took him on countless outings and enabled him to live as independently as possible.
A man of many hobbies, Jeffrey loved country music, the Washington Redskins, and arts and crafts. He loved watching game shows, Star Trek, Hogan's Heroes, and Wonder Woman. For many years, he participated in the Handicapped Athletic Program (HAP) duckpin bowling league. Attending Camp GLOW every summer was the highlight of the year for him.
Jeffrey was also preceded in death by his oldest brother, Mark Scott. He is survived by a brother, Gregory Scott of Santa Clara, CA, a sister, Carolyn Scott Roberts of Kingsville, MD, and many other beloved family members and friends.
The family will hold a private burial service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Catholic Charities/Gallagher Services, 320 Cathedral Street, Baltimore, MD 21201 or the Providence Center, 930 Point Pleasant Road, Glen Burnie, MD 21060.
He has fought the good fight. He has finished the race. He has kept the faith.
