Jeffrey John Sarli, 48, recently of Nashville, Tenn., and formerly of Annapolis for 33 years, died of complications from kidney disease Aug. 28 at home after a yearlong illness.
Mr. Sarli was an accomplished bassist, known for his unique upright style and sound. Among his many accomplishments, he appeared in "The Patsy Cline Story" in Branson, Mo., and on three tracks of the Rolling Stone's "Bridges to Babylon" compact disc. He performed in many clubs and festivals throughout the United States and Europe since the middle-1970s, ever since leaving high school.
The son of Victoria and Michael J. Sarli of Arnold, he was reared in White Plains, N.Y. He attended school in West Harrison, N.Y., and the Johns Hopkins University's Peabody Institute of Music in Baltimore.
In addition to his parents, surviving are two sons, Evan Michael Sarli of Glen Burnie and Benjamin William Sarli of Annapolis; one brother, Michael S. Sarli of Fairfax, Va.; and one sister, Mary Ellen S. Porreca of Philadelphia.
A memorial Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Monday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 689 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park. Burial is private. Arrangements are by Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made to www.barrancofuneralhome.com.
