Jeffrey Howard Conord, 32 of Baltimore, Maryland, passed away on June 6, 2017.

Jeffrey was born in Pensacola, FL on January 9, 1985 to Albert T. and Barbara M. Conord.  As part of a military family, Jeff lived in numerous locations across the world.  After graduating in 2003 from North Stafford High School in Stafford, VA, he enlisted in the Army National Guard and later joined ROTC while attending Radford University where he received a degree in Communications.  Commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Army in 2008, Jeff was assigned to the 82 nd Airborne Division and deployed to Afghanistan with "1 Fury" conducting combat operations during 2009 and 2010.  He was awarded the Bronze Star and Army Commendation Medals for valor.  Jeffrey concluded his honorable service in 2014 as a Captain. Transitioning into the civilian community, he continued to care for his fellow veterans by ensuring quality health care benefits for thousands of veterans in New Jersey through his business development position with Upstream Strategies.

For all of his professional accomplishments, ultimately Jeff was a protector, beginning with his family.  At an early age, he would drag his little brother and sister into his room to sleep so he could keep them safe at night.   He always felt the need to guard and defend his mom when his dad was deployed.   The need to protect others carried over to his military family causing Jeff to lay it all on the line.  One of his fellow soldiers shared "The Jeff I know gave nearly all of himself to us.  He gave himself to combat - Afghanistan - to the brotherhood of 1 Fury.  If you ever had a chance to catch up with him post-deployment you'd see it in his eyes.  He gave everything he had - everything in his being - everything in his soul - to us over there" when he was just 24 years old. Jeff fought these demons for years and recently gained traction in his recovery.  He restored his relationships with his family, he returned to God, and was excited about life.  He died too soon.

Jeff is survived by numerous family and friends.  His immediate family is his parents, A.T. and Barbi, his sister, Malia, his brother and wife, Zack and Sarah, and his favorite person in the world, his nephew Tom-Tom.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on June 13, 2017 at Severna Park Evangelical Church.  Pastor Todd Gaston will be officiating.  A viewing will be held at the Church preceding the service from 9:00 am to 9:45 am.  Military honors ceremony will follow the service from 11:30 to 11:45 am at the Crownsville Veterans Cemetery.  There will be a reception at the Elks Lodge on Truck House Road in Severna Park at 12:00, where people will have the opportunity to share prepared thoughts and stories about Jeff.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Barranco and Sons Funeral Home.
