Jeannette Emma Bender, 84, a resident of Arnold for 25 years, died of natural causes July 29 at home after a brief illness.
Mrs. Bender was born June 18, 1921, in Baltimore, where she was reared and remained a longtime resident in South Baltimore until relocating to Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. and Arnold.
An avid Orioles baseball fan, she was a homemaker and member of a bowling league at the Fairlanes in Lansdowne, Md.
She was the widow of Delroy Francis McCleary Bender; and mother of the late Gary Dennis Bender, who died in 1966.
Surviving are one daughter, Phyllis A. Schwinger-Hoffman of Arnold; three sons, Ronald Delroy Bender of Catonsville, Howard Wayne Bender of Deale and Michael Brian Bender of Arbutus; one brother, Ronald Hill of Gettysburg, Pa.; one sister, Beverly Ballzanna of Fallston, Md.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. on Thursday at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway in Severna Park, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday. Burial will follow in Loudon Park Cemetery, 3700 Wilkins Ave. in Baltimore.
