IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jeanette A.
Evans
April 24, 1933 – February 20, 2022
Jeanette Alice Evans passed away on February 20, 2022, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born in 1933 in Baltimore to William and Alice Rohrer and grew up in Woodlawn with her sister Gloria, graduating from Catonsville High School in 1951. She was employed by Westinghouse Electric Defense Division in Linthicum as a secretary for many years, retiring in the late '90s. Jeanette lived in the Timber Ridge community in Hanover and was a longtime member of Wesley Grove United Methodist Church in Harmans, serving on many committees and singing in the choir. She was an avid dog lover, birdwatcher and reader, and spent many hours cursing the squirrels who raided her bird feeders. She also enjoyed duckpin bowling and appeared on the TV show "Duckpins for Dollars."
Jeanette is survived by her three children: Carol, Mark, and Sandra (Kiefler), her son-in-law Dave McGuirk, daughter-in-law Sue Evans, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Services are private. Contributions in Jeanette's memory can be made to the Alzheimer's Association and the Senior Dog Sanctuary of Maryland.
