Jean Adrienne Thompson, 89, a longtime resident of Severna Park died at Somerford Place in Annapolis on September 20, 2009 due to natural causes.

She was born Jean Adrienne Hurd on May 7, 1920 in Baltimore, MD, where she was also raised. A 1939 graduate of Seton High, she married her husband Howard T. Thompson in 1940. They moved to Severna Park from Baltimore in 1947 to raise their family. Mrs. Thompson was a homemaker who enjoyed knitting, needlepoint, and gardening. In addition, Mrs. Thompson worked for a few years in the Nursery School Program at St. Martins in the Field Church.

Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her husband, Howard T. Thompson, Sr. in 1990, and her son, Howard T. Thompson, Jr. in 2000. She is survived by her daughters, Kathy L. Arnold of Pasadena, MD and Jean A. Judy of Cape St. Claire in Annapolis, MD; her sister, Marion Ferkler of Gettysburg, PA; as well as, four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation on Wednesday from 3-7pm at Barranco & Sons. P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 10:00am with the interment to follow at Zion Church Cemetery in Baltimore, MD.
