Jean Spellman (nee Blaul) of Severna Park, MD and Astoria, New York, passed away on July 3, 2023 at St. Joseph's Nursing Home in Catonsville.

Jean was born on March 1, 1932 in Astoria, where she lived for most of her life.  She attended Immaculate Conception Elementary School in Astoria and graduated from Cathedral High School and St. Vincent's Nursing School in Manhattan.  Jean worked as a hospital nurse for 50 years.  Jean moved to Severna Park in 2018 to live with her daughter Karen.

Jean was a devout Catholic and loved her faith and praying to her Lord.  She was a member of Immaculate Conception in Astoria and St. John the Evangelist Church in Severna Park.

Jean was the wife of the late John Spellman, loving mother of Stephen Spellman, Marilyn Kaczynski, Karen Misuraca, the late John Spellman and the late Michelle Lugo.  Jean was the dear grandmother of 9 grandchildren and great grandmother of 11 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at O'Shea-Hoey Funeral Home in Astoria New York on Sunday, July 9, 2023 from 2-8pm.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church in Astoria on Monday, July 10th at 945am.  Interment at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Farmingdale, NY.
