Jean L. Shea, 78, of Arnold, MD passed away on May 27, 2010 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center.

She was born in Pittsburgh, PA on January 12, 1932 to her parents, Charles and Lucy Siefert. Jean was raised in Milford, CT, where she graduated form high school in 1950. She married Thomas L. Shea, Sr. in 1951. Mrs. Shea was a receptionist and doctor's assistant for a pediatrics practice for 20 years.

Mrs. Shea was a member of St. Andrew by the Bay Catholic Church. Her hobbies included knitting, crocheting, reading, sports, and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She, too, enjoyed cooking, family reunions, and traveling, especially to Bethany Beach, DE and Europe, where she took several trips.

Jean is survived by her husband, Thomas L. Shea, Sr.; her sons, Paul Shea (Jan) of Annapolis, Thomas Shea, Jr. (Valerie) of Crofton, Daniel Shea (Barbara) of Arnold; her daughters, Luanne Shea Skrenta (Allan) of Severna Park, Kathleen Shea Platzke (Roy) of Skipwith, VA and Jeanine Shea Coffey (Robert) of Arnold; her sister, Marianne Cormier of Pittsburgh, PA; as well as, twenty-one grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home on Monday, May 31, 2010 from 4-7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 am at St. Andrew of the Bay Catholic Church 701 College Parkway Annapolis, MD 21409.
