Jean Crisp

Jean Virginia Hofmann Crisp, 86, of Severna Park, died July 6 at home after a brief illness.

Born Jan. 19, 1920, in Baltimore, Mrs. Crisp graduated from the Friends School and earned an interior design degree from the Maryland Institute, College of Art in Baltimore.

She worked for several years as an interior designer for the former Stewart's Department Store in downtown Baltimore.

She was a homemaker and an avid seamstress who enjoyed needlepoint and counted cross-stitch. Her interests also included traveling with her husband, William Shipley Crisp, aboard their boat, J-Bob, through the intercoastal waterway to their winter home in Duck Key, Fla.

A lifetime member of the Ann Arundell County Historical Society, she was a charter member of the Questors antique group, a former Girl Scout leader and Sunday school teacher at Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church and a member of Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Severna Park.

In addition to her husband of 63 years, she is survived by two daughters, Ottilie Habercam and Belinda Scherr, both of Severna Park; and six grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway, followed by burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
