Jean Alice Case, age 71, passed away peacefully, Monday, September 28, 2020, in the company of family. Jean was born and raised in Baltimore, MD and married Charles "Duke" Case in March 1979.
Through the marriage, Jean became the step-mother to two daughters and eventually the grandmother to five granddaughters. She loved spending time with family, often traveling to Disney World for family vacations and organizing craft days with the grandchildren.
She was a committed volunteer. For years, she and Duke served as Honor Flight volunteers, helping veterans navigate the airport on their way to visit the war memorials in Washington, DC. Soon after, she served as a volunteer PathFinder at BWI, helping people find their way through the airport. She was a devoted member at Severn UMC and held various volunteer positions over the years. Most recently, she volunteered at the local food pantry.
Jean was predeceased by husband, Duke Case. She is survived by her siblings, Renee McFaul and Jim Heitman, her step-daughters, Cynthia Lopynski (Jerry) and Carolyn Burchfield (Alex), and her five granddaughters, Lindsay Priest (Jacob), Emily Lopynski, Anna Ruth Kendall (Austin), Olivia Burchfield, and Lexi Burchfield.
A virtual Service of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at 1:30pm. A private inurnment service at Arlington National Cemetery will be held at a later date.
