Jean C. Adams passed away peacefully at home with her family during the night on March 20, 2014. Jean was 76 years of age and born in Rock Hill, South Carolina on the 2nd of September 1937 to the late William and Myrtle Carpenter.   Jean is survived by her beloved husband, James H. Adams and their 4 sons of whom she was so proud. James lives in Pasadena, MD, Brad resides in Port Tobacco, MD, Thomas still lives in Severna Park, MD, and John has recently settled in Towson with his family. She had 6 Grandchildren; Jacqueline, Ally, Bradley, Rilan, Cameron and Jack the youngest. Jean is also survived by her four daughters-in-law, Tammy , Christina, Mindy, and Gail and her 3 brothers; Charles Kirsch, Belair MD, John Kirsch, Reno, NV and Wayne Carpenter, California

In addition to an active life as a homemaker, Jean also worked at ARINC and T he Evening Capital. She met her husband in Hamburg, Germany, where he was serving with the Counter-Intelligence Corp., and Jean was traveling with her parents.   Their love blossomed and they were married several years later in Washington DC. Jim worked for the Telephone Co., while Jean took care of their growing family. Eventually they arrived in Severna Park, MD. They joined the local Country Club, learned to play golf and raised their 4 sons. They took numerous golf trips across the country. Jean was active socially and loved to write, play bridge, tennis, golf and attend her kid's sporting events. She also enjoyed an occasional challenge with the slots. Jean had a unique sense of humor and made friends very easily.

The time came and they desired a change and moved to Chambersburg, PA, bought a home that
Jean really loved, and joined the local Country Club. Though difficult, she was able to be in her home and surrounded by her family when she passed to her new home.

A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday March 27, 2014 from 6-8:00pm at the Barranco & Sons Severna Park Funeral Home P.A 495 Ritchie Hwy. Severna Park, MD 21146.
