Janis Lee Zimmerman (nee McClanahan), 76, a resident of Annapolis, MD, died on October 6, 2208 at home, due to heart failure, after a lengthy illness.

She was born on August 6, 1932, in Carmondy Hills, MD, where she was raised. She lived in Cape St. Claire, Annapolis since 1967.

Mrs. Zimmerman graduated from Maryland Park High School in Capital Heights, MD.
She worked as a bookkeeper for her family owned business, the former MacWood Upholstery Company in Annapolis, for many years.

She enjoyed sports and was an avid Redskin fan and also enjoyed gardening.
She was a member of Trinity Bible Church in Severna Park for nearly forty years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Zimmerman, who died in 1997.

Survivors include a daughter, Donna L. Susa of Cape St. Claire, Annapolis; son, Neil Ackerman of Waldorf, MD; three sisters, Elaine Rice of Clinton, MD, Margaret Whitehair of Charlestown, WV, and Kim Nagle of Norwalk, CT.
She was the dear grandmother of Harry Raymond Wiles, Jonathan Rex Wiles, Todd Jason Ackerman, Brian Keith Ackerman and Nathan Caleb Ackerman and eight great- grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2008 at 11:00 AM at the Trinity Bible Church , 99 Truck House Road, Severna Park, MD 21146. A reception will follow service.
Arrangements have been made by Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home.
Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the above mentioned church.
