Janet M. Tucker, 85, passed away on December 11, 2025 at her home in Severna Park, Maryland.

Janet was born in Framingham, Massachusetts on April 19, 1940 to her parents the late Donald Stuart Scotland and Gertrude Arlene Totten Scotland.

She was raised in Westbury on Long Island in NY and lived in Lancaster Ohio, College Park, Ga, and Simsbury CT.

Janet attended the University of Connecticut studied to be a seamstress.

Janet moved to her home in Severna Park, Maryland in 1971. She worked for many years in banking and served as a manager at Baltimore Federal and at Household bank.

Janet loved and cherished being with her family especially her grandchildren. She also loved the beach, collecting shells and making crafts with them. As well as sitting down where the waves crash with her feet in the sand.

She enjoyed sewing, knitting and crocheting. Janet also enjoyed reading and making jigsaw puzzles. She also collected birdhouses.

Janet was the wife of the late Robert M. Newlin and the late Richard Norman Bird. She was also mother to the late Donald Marks Newlin who passed on November 5, 2023.

Survivors include her husband Karl Thomas Tucker of Severna Park, her daughters Jane S. Bailey (Bill) of Dallas Ga. and Cheryl Ann Newlin-Reese (Bill) of Pasadena, MD, her grandchildren; Cody, Alex, Leviathan, Samantha, Tyler and Ashley. Janet is also survived by 7 step-children, 8 step-grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Family and Friends may visit at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 from 2-4pm with a Service to follow at 4pm.

Committal service will be held at Meadowridge Memorial Park on Wednesday, December 17th, family and friends please meet at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home at 10:30 am to be part of the funeral procession to Meadowridge Memorial Park.
