Janet Dugan Peyton, 99, of Chartwell in Severna Park, MD, passed away peacefully at home on May 23, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Janet was born on January 2, 1925, in Philadelphia, PA to her parents John Joseph Dugan, Sr. and Elizabeth A. Hafner Dugan.  She graduated from Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls in Philadelphia.  Janet married Andrew S. Peyton on April 26, 1947.

The family moved to Severna Park in 1971.  Janet was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and homemaker.  As a member of Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church, she volunteered as a Religious Education Teacher and served on several committees.  Janet was an avid reader, loved traveling and a beautiful sunset.  She was a talented artist.  Most of all she loved spending time with her family.

Janet was preceded in death by her husband Andrew S. Peyton, her daughter Maureen E. Peyton, her son Dr. Andrew Stephen "Steve" Peyton, Jr., her siblings Margaret Killeen, Virginia Crowne, Marie Brady, and Jack Dugan.

Janet was the beloved mother of Andrea Shuck (late Jim), Linda Hudson (John), Donald Peyton (Susana), Kathleen Carter (James), Elise Anawalt (Andrew), Patrice Barranco (John) and Michael Peyton (Kelly), and dear mother-in-law of Kit Peyton.  Loving Nana to 16 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.

Family and Friends may visit at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care, P.A. on Tuesday, May 28th from 4-7pm and Wednesday, May 29th from 9-10 am.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11am at Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church, 1070 Cecil Ave, Millersville MD 21108.  Interment will be in the Church Cemetery after the Mass.
