Whittenberger, Jane Powell Carroll, 93, of Annapolis, passed away November 15, 2013.

Jane was born in Chantilly, Virginia and resided in that area until she met her husband, Newton Carroll. They settled in Bentleyville, PA to raise their family. She retired as an executive secretary for the Public Welfare Office in Washington, PA and moved to Annapolis in 1982 to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents, brothers Buck, Henry, and Ralph, husbands Newton Carroll and Raymond Whittenberger, son Dennis Carroll, and grandson Chad Birely.

She is survived by her daughter Joyce (Richard) Birely and granddaughter Carrie (Nate) Olish of Annapolis, stepson Paul (Christine) Whittenberger and granddaughters Kelly (Jeffrey) Scholl and Becky Kalchthaler of Ocean Pines, MD, stepson Jon (Celia) Whittenberger of Mansfied, OH and family, and eleven great-grandchildren. She also is survived by many people that lovingly called her Grandma Jane.
Some of her many hobbies were travel, sewing, knitting, golfing, bowling, and gardening, and she loved all types of animals.

A Memorial service will be held on Saturday November 23, 2013 at 11:00am in the Barranco & Sons,P.A Severna Park Funeral Home 495 Ritchie Hwy. Severna Park, MD 21146.
