Jane died peacefully in her sleep on June 9 at her home in Severna Park MD. She lived there for 14 years with her son, Bob, his wife, Jeanette, and 7 of her grandchildren.

She was born in Mount Holly New Jersey on Feb. 3, 1933. She graduated from Hamilton High School (New Jersey) in 1951. She married George Joseph Cohn in 1960 in Philadelphia, PA. They had two sons, William Joseph (deceased) and Robert Edward. They moved to Miami, Fl in 1964 where Jane took a job as a legal secretary. She worked with a law firm until she was diagnosed with Laryngeal Cancer in 1990. She spent numerous volunteer hours at American Red Cross and NOVA college as a spokesperson for cancer awareness. In June of 1996, she moved to Severna Park, MD to live with her son.

Jane was an avid reader and spent many hours enjoying novels of various genre's. She loved crafts and made many trinkets for family and friends. Jane was constantly giving gifts to others and thus had a vast collection of catalogs from which she would fine the most unique gifts!

Jane is survived by her 97 year old mother, Georgianna Matthews of Robbinsville, New Jersey, her brother, Edward Matthews of New Jersey , her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Jeanette Cohn of Severna Park, her grandchildren, Micheal, Heather, Daniel, Rachel, Rebecca, MaryRose, and David, all from Severna Park, and a granddaughter, Desirae Cohn from Ft. Lauderdale, Fl.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 14 at 12:00 PM at St. John the Evangelist Church, 689 Ritchie Hwy in Severna Park, MD. A Wake service will be held at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Sunday, June 13. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Legionaries of Christ (33 Rossotto Dr., Hamden, Ct., 06514-1336) or St. John the Evangelist – Jamaica Project.
