Jane L. Rice, a long-time resident of Annapolis, passed away peacefully on May 30th, 2026, at the age of 94 at her daughter’s home, surrounded by family. Jane was the oldest of two children born to George Redmon and Helen Standiford Redmon on March 17, 1932. She was raised in Baltimore and worked as a bookkeeper in Glen Burnie, at the U.S. Naval Institute in Annapolis, and at her brother’s restaurant in Tilghman Island.

Jane enjoyed life and being with her family. She traveled and excelled at crafts, spending most of her latter years sewing, quilting, and knitting. She loved the Navy and was an avid follower and fan of the Baltimore Orioles.

Jane is survived by her son Steven (Elizabeth) Brown of Sharps Chapel, TN; her daughter Leslie (Paul) Thrasher of Arnold, MD; and her son John (Janice) Rice of Glenwood, MD; by 6 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Jane was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Irvin (Jack); and her brother, Jack.
