Jane Hagner passed at her home in Severna Park on Tuesday, September 27th. She was 90 years old. Jane was born to Purnell and Emily Short of Philadelphia on August 2nd, 1932. She graduated from Olney High School and lived in Philadelphia until her marriage in 1954 which brought her to Maryland. Jane had worked for the Federal government for over 30 years. More specifically, the last 15 with the Department of the Navy.
Jane and her husband Oliver raised two children in Severna Park and Jane was very actively involved with all of her childrens sports and activities. Jane also was a former member of the Crabtowne Ski Club and enjoyed many ski trips and European excursions with the club. She was an avid traveler and her and her husband enjoyed many travels all over the world.
Jane was also quite artistic and enjoyed many years of ceramics, stain glass design, and flower arranging. She spent many years putting together altar flower arrangements for her parish Our Shepard Lutheran Church.
Jane is survived by her husband of 68 years, Oliver. She is also survived by her daughter, Dana McDonnell and her husband Kevin of Gambrills, Md. Jane has one grandchild, Megan also of Gambrills. She is predeceased by her son Mark Hagner.
A viewing will be held at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care, P.A. 495 Ritchie Hwy Severna Park, MD 21146 on Sunday October 2, 2022 from 2:00pm-4:00pm and 6:00pm-8:00pm. Burial will be held at Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville on Monday, October 3, 2022 at 12:30pm.
