Jan E. Hylan died on November 5, 2013 at Tate Chesapeake Hospice House in Linthicum Heights, MD.
Survived by husband of 32 years, Leo P. Hylan, Jr.; son, Leo P. Hylan, III, and his wife, Lauren; sister, Diane Filetto, and two brothers, John and Michael Posner.
Predeceased by daughter, Alison Hylan, and brother, Paul Joseph Posner, Jr.
Jan was a teacher for twenty-two years in the Anne Arundel County Public School system, once nominated for County Teacher of the Year. She will be remembered and missed by family, friends, colleagues, and the many students whose lives she touched.
Family and friends may visit on Sunday, November 10, 2013 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy in Severna Park. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, November 11, 2013 at 11:00 am at St. Andrew by the Bay Roman Catholic Church, 701 College Parkway in Arnold.Interment will be in Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville, MD.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her name to her favorite charity, the Epilepsy Foundation.
