JAMES (Jim) WILSON

James Wilson, 79, of Severna Park, MD passed away July 3rd at his home following a long battle with Parkinson's Disease and Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. He was born March 22, 1931 in Eldorado, IL where he lived until his family moved to upstate New York in 1941. He was proud to have served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1948 to 1952, including service on board ship in the Mediterranean. He then had a career as a District Manager for a property/casualty insurance company, taking early retirement in 1986.

Jim had many hobbies and was best known for his love of fine sport cars. He was a car collector, belonged to several clubs and enthusiastically followed the sport car racing events. For many years he was an avid golfer.

He is survived by, and will be missed by, his wife of 47 years, Shirley Wilson, his son Gary Wilson of Elmira, NY and his partner Alicia Collins, his son Matthew Wilson and his wife Alison, of Annapolis, MD and the joy of his life in his later years, his three grandchildren, James Gary Wilson, Zoie Linn Wilson and Zackary Tyler Wilson. He will always be missed also by the large family who were such an important part of his life.

Private family services are planned in New York. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the National Parkinson's Foundation or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
