James Alton Whitcomb Jr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2025, at the age of 81. He was born on June 14, 1943, in Pasadena, Maryland, and was the loving husband of the late Lillian Whitcomb.

James is survived by his daughter, Dawn; his grandson Jay, his wife Katie, and their daughter, Jade. James was deeply proud of his family and cherished the love he shared with his wife, Lillian, and his children.

James was an incredibly devoted father and grandfather. He was a pillar of strength, love, and support for his family, including his late son, Jamie, son in law, Chris and his late granddaughter Brittany. He was also deeply loved by several brothers and sisters, Wanda Roy, Anna Tombs, Keith Whitcomb, Linda Davis, Ricky Wirtz, Richard Davis, Lee Wirtz, Frank Wirtz, Albert Whitcomb, Mark Wirtz, Chandra Wirtz his legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched.

In his career, James worked as a talented driver for Mitchell Truck for over 25 years. He was respected for his dedication, hard work, and skill. Beyond his professional achievements, James was a gifted musician, singer, and performer. He enjoyed singing with the band at Carol's Western and later at Magothy United Methodist Church, where his voice brought joy to many.

James' greatest accomplishment was the family he built. As a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he loved unconditionally and was always there to offer wisdom, support, and a helping hand. His warmth and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Family and friends may visit form 10:00-12:00pm on Thursday March 27, 2025 at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy Severna Park MD, 21146. A service will begin at 12:00pm at the funeral home on Thursday March 27, 2025, with burial at Glen Haven Memorial Park to follow.

James will be remembered for his love, his laughter, and the strength of his spirit. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
