James Wells
James Walter Wells, 74, of Glen Burnie, died of heart failure April 28 at University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore after a brief illness.
Born May 1, 1929, in Baltimore, and reared in Pikesville, Mr. Wells lived in Severna Park for 25 years. During the Korean War he served in the Army.
He retired as plant engineer for Westinghouse Electric Corp.
His interests included golf, photography, cooking, traveling and spending time with his two grandsons.
He was the widower of Margie C. Wells.
Also surviving are two daughters, Laura Wells Phipps of Arnold and Jane Wells of Atlanta; his companion, Betty Thomas of Glen Burnie; one sister, Christine Vetters of Timonium; and one brother, William D. Wells of Port Charlotte, Fla.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow and from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. A Mass of Christian burial will be said at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Cypress Creek Road and Ritchie Highway, Severna Park. Burial will be in Druid Ridge Cemetery in Baltimore.
