James Prescott Talentino, 78, of Severna Park, died on Friday, December 6, 2013, at Mandrin Hospice House.
He was born in Washington, DC on November 20, 1935. He graduated from Bethesda Chevy Chase High School in 1954. Then he graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering and later earned a Masters in Systems Management from the University of Southern California.
James served as project engineer on missile warhead development at the Naval Ordinance Laboratory in White Oak, MD. He served as an aerospace engineer at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. James also served on a Committee on Energy Research at the U.S. House of Representatives. He also served as a Supervisory Engineer with the Consumer Product Safety Commission and with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. After he retired he worked for his son, Mark Warner, at the Pasadena Carwash.
James loved nature, boating and traveling. He also enjoyed woodworking and refinishing antique furniture.
He is survived by his wife, Norma Jean Talentino, nee Weaver, of Severna Park, his children; John Warner (Shari) of Pasadena, Michael Talentino (Kim) of Twinsburg, OH, Mark Warner (Stacey) of Pasadena, John Talentino (Anita) of Dublin, OH, Fred Talentino (Ruth) of Woodstock, MD, Susan Warner of Arnold, MD, Aimee Sanders (Frank) of Burtonsville, MD and Laurie Warner of Severna Park. He was grandfather of 20 grandchildren and 1 great grand-daughter. He was also survived by his brothers, Fr. Bill Talentino of Beaver, PA and Fr. Tom Talentino of Edmonton, Canada.
Friends may visit on Tuesday, December 10th, from 5:30-830pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at 10 am at St. John the Evangelist Church, 689 Ritchie Hwy. Severna Park.
Burial will be private.
