James Boswell Roberts, 84, a 42 year resident of Severna Park, MD passed away peacefully at home on December 25, 2023.  Born on June 7, 1939 in Washington, DC to the late Opal Irene Roberts and William James Roberts, Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many.  He loved to work with his hands, tinker on projects around the house, be outside working in his yard, read, watch sports, help others but most of all he loved to spend time with his family. Jim was loved by all who knew him, was always by his wife's side throughout their 60 years of marriage and enjoyed doting over her and doing things for her whenever possible. He was an elevator engineer for all of his work life and worked at the National Security Agency in the last ten years of his career before finally retiring at the age of 80.

Jim is survived by his wife Laurice M. Roberts, his children, Linda M. Roberts and Pamela E. Roberts, and his grandchildren, Derek James (DJ) Velilla, Emma Chambers and Cole Ramsey.  He was preceded in death by his 8 brothers and sisters.

Family and friends may visit on Thursday January 4, 2024 from 4:00pm-7:00pm at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care, P.A. 495 Ritchie Hwy Severna Park, MD 21146. Services will be held on Friday January 5, 2024 at 11:00am at Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church  611 Baltimore Annapolis Blvd. Severna Park, MD 21146. Interment Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
