James Francis Mullervy of Severna Park, Md., passed away on September 28, 2009, in the company of loved ones. Born on June 5, 1934, in East Providence, R.I., he graduated from St. Raphael Academy and later the University of Rhode Island. He served in the Army Honor Guard at Ft. Belvoir, Va., before accepting a position with Westinghouse Electric. He then became a Regional Marketing Manager with Westinghouse Transportation, which was later acquired by AEG and then Daimler Benz. A lifelong sailor, he was also a founding member of the Round Bay Sailing Association. James was married for 45 years to Kathryn Bevans Mullervy.
He is survived by Kathryn, his children, Deirdre of Baltimore, Colin and his wife Karen of Crownsville, Daniel and his wife Gloria of Annapolis. He was the grandfather of Gavin, Genevieve, Margaret, and Finley, and the brother of Nancy Newbrook of Cumberland, R.I., and the son of the late James and Genevieve Mullervy.
Family and friends may visit on Thursday, October 1, 2009 from 6-8 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, October 2, 2009 at 10 AM at Our Lady of the Fields, 1070 Cecil Avenue, Millersville, MD. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made to the American Heart Association, Processing Center, P.O.
