James Earl McCutchan, 67, a resident of Pasadena died on July 23, 2011.

He was born on May 23, 1944 in Oakland, CA and was raised in Visalia, CA. His past residences include Brandon, FL and Millersville, MD. He graduated from Whitney High School and the University of Nevada at Reno. Mr. McCutchan received his MBA at the University of San Francisco, and his Masters in Education at Loyola University Maryland.

Mr. McCutchan had a career in manufacturing and education, and was most recently a safety officer at Reliable Contracting Company. He was a substitute carrier for the Capital Newspaper, a former member of Severna Park and Pasadena Rotary, treasurer of the Magothy River Sailing Association, and Grand Knight and treasurer of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed running, hiking, sailing, reading, playing bridge, and playing with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy A. McCutchan, who died in 1988 and his father James William McCutchan, II.

He is survived by his wife, Jill Chadwell McCutchan of Pasadena; his mother, Goldie McCutchan, of Santa Barbara, CA; his son, James W. McCutchan, III of Santa Barbara, CA; daughter, Mollie Sheely of Danville, NH; step-daughter, Heather Chadwell Hurley of Wakefield, RI, and sister, Evelyn Cavins, of Santa Barbara, CA. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Taylor, Aiden, Logan, Meredith and Addison.

Friends may visit on Thursday, July 28, 2011 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at on Friday, July 29, 2011 at10am at Our Lady of the Fields Roman Catholic Church, 1070 Cecil Avenue, Millersville, MD 21108. Interment will be in the church cemetery. A reception will follow in the church hall. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1041 Maryland 3, Ste.
