James Daniel Lesikar , II, 66, a resident of Severna Park, passed away on May 5, 2020 at his home.
He was born on February 24, 1954 in Houston, Texas, where he was raised, and graduated from Rice University in Houston with a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering, received a Master in Physics, and PHD in Physics. He previously lived in Annapolis.
James served in the US Army for 36 years and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel; was a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff at the Pentagon; and taught classes at the US Naval Academy. He also worked at NASA as a rocket scientist.
He was a member of the Annapolis Society of Mechanical Engineers, Maryland Society of Professional Engineers, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, American Society of Professional Engineers, and served on many of their boards.
James enjoyed volunteering for animal rescues. He also enjoyed researching his ancestry, traveling and fine dining.
He was preceded in death by his late father, James D. Lesikar.
James is survived by his wife of 24 years, Sara M. Lesikar of Severna Park and his mother, Ludine Lesikar of Temple, TX. He was also survived by his cousins.
Services will be private. Private burial at Seaton Cemetery in Seaton, TX.
