James Frank Katlic, Sr., age 94, of Arnold, beloved husband of Shirley Juanita Sands-Katlic for 69 years, passed away on January 28, 2023.

James was born to the late Charles James Katlic and Mary Novak in Baltimore City.

A graduate of Glen Burnie High School, James was a veteran and served his country with honor from 1951 – 1953. He retired as an ironworker in the steel industry.

James was an active member in the community, with memberships in the VFW, Moose, NRA, Army Reserves and CAP (Civil Air Patrol). He enjoyed crabbing and fishing in his spare time. James also loved playing Pokeno, was a casino extraordinaire as well as a flea market pro. James was of Catholic faith and member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church.

James is survived by his wife, Shirley; sons, James F. Jr. (Celeste), Alan J.; daughters, Sharon L. Thomas (George), Bernadette E. Jones (Dave); 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter Karen, and siblings, Marie, Charles, Evelyn, Helen, and Elizabeth.

Friends may visit on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, from 3:00 to 5:00pm and 7:00 to 9:00pm at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care, P.A., 495 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, MD 21146.  The service  will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at 10:00am.  Burial will follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park, 7231 Ritchie Hwy, Suite E, Glen Burnie, MD 21061.
