James H. Hughes, 53, of Annapolis, Maryland, died Wednesday, January 27, 2016, at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
He was born in Patrick County on March 14, 1963 to Dewey R. Hughes and Margaret A. Hughes of Stuart, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Johnny and Myrtle Spence Rogers and Hampton Hughes and Annie Hughes Harris; his parents Dewey R. Hughes and Margaret Ann Hughes; and his brother Larry Hughes.
He was a graduate of Patrick County High School and was employed by the United States Army Medical Research Institute of Chemical Defense in Aberdeen, Maryland.
Surviving, in addition to his sister Marie Hughes and his brother Steve Hughes of Stuart, Virginia, are his wife, Cathy Hughes of Annapolis, Maryland; and one son and one daughter, Nicholas Hughes and Caitlin Swaim of Annapolis, Maryland.
