James Lil Hinson, 86, a resident of Arnold, passed away on February 9, 2018 after an extended illness. He was born on May 25, 1931 in Rock Hill, SC to Ivy and Sarah Hinson, and raised in Lancaster, SC. He attended Clemson University and The University of Maryland.  He served in the U.S Air Force.

James worked for Martin Marietta, ARINC, & various other defense contractors. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially by the pool or at the beach.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Patricia Hinson of Arnold, daughter, Vicki Wenderlich and son-in-law, Ray Wenderlich of Huntingtown, MD; daughter, Karyn Bristow and son-in-law, Ron Bristow of Arnold, MD; grandson and wife,Ray and Vicki Wenderlich of McGaheysville, VA; granddaughter, Amy Wenderlich of Wilmington, DE; great grandsons, Cameron and Evan; and grandsons, Ry, Blair & Drew Bristow of Arnold, MD.

Family and friends may visit on Monday, February 12, 2018 from 3-5 and 7-9pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park, MD, 21146. A funeral mass will be held Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 10:30am at St. Andrew by the Bay Catholic Church, 701 College Parkway, Annapolis, MD, 21409. Burial is to follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park, 7231 Ritchie Hwy, Glen Burnie, MD, 21061.
