James Kelly Harris, 62, of Severna Park, died suddenly of cardiac arrest June 2 while en route to work in Baltimore.

Born Nov. 28, 1943, in Fairfield, Ala., Mr. Harris was reared in Bessemer, Ala. and had also once resided in Chattanooga, Tenn. He graduated from Georgia Tech, where he played football and earned a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering.

Mr. Harris served in the Army for the Chemical Weapons Corps at Fort Dietrich, Md. He was later employed at Lucey Boiler Company and Pall Corporation in Timonium.

He was a member of St. Anne's Episcopal Church in Annapolis, where he was a reader and chalice bearer.

His interests included coaching youth soccer.

Surviving are his wife, Patricia Ann Boyles Harris of Severna Park; one son, Patrick Kelley Harris of Eldersburg, Md.; one daughter, Katherine Ann Harris of Springfield, Va.; one brother, Carl Rhea Harris of McCalla, Ala.; and one sister, Janet Harris Troutman of Birmingham, Ala.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway in Severna Park. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Anne's Episcopal Church, Church Circle. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Annapolis.
