James M. Fritts, 53, a resident of Annapolis and formerly of Davison, Mich., died of a heart attack July 30 at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
Born April 23, 1951, and reared in Detroit, Mich., Mr. Fritts was the son of Ruby Randall of Michigan and Wesley Fritts of California.
He served in the Army during the Vietnam War and worked for the Department of Defense in counterintelligence for 30 years.
Among his interests were sailing.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 30 years, Bonnie Fritts, whom he married Dec. 12, 1974; two children, William Tim Fritts and Sarah Fritts of Annapolis; one sister, Diane Fritts of Michigan; and one brother, Rick Fritts of Florida.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway in Severna Park, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow. Burial will be in Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville
