James (Jim) Michael Cox passed away on August 6, 2024 at home, surrounded by his family.

He was born on July 24, 1949 in Kirtland, Ohio to James Robert Cox and Doris Genevieve (neé Spurling) Cox. James grew up in Miami, Florida and graduated from Christopher Columbus High School. After graduating from high school, Jim enlisted in the United States Navy and served from 1968 to 1974 on the USS Jack.  Upon being honorably discharged  Jim worked in various management positions, including at Japantown Bowl (San Francisco), Ms. Fields, and Bank of America, where he retired.

Jim met the love of his life, Susan, and they were married on August 1, 1987. They lived in San Francisco before settling in Severna Park, where they lived for many years. Jim enjoyed travel, Broadway shows, TCM movies, golfing, bowling and the company of family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Susan Cox of Severna Park, MD; his brothers Stephen Cox (Lucia) of Miami, FL , Donald Cox of Greensboro, NC and sister Linda Price (deceased) as well as loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many longtime friends.
