Jacqueline C. McIntyre (Chaney) Petrakis 83 passed away on December 29, 2016 from a lengthy illness. She died in Hospice of Chesapeake at 5:15am. She was born on March 17, 1933 in Fredericksburg, Virginia to Homer and Evelyn McIntyre. Later she moved to Prince George's County and worked for the Southern Maryland Bank and Trust. Jacqueline married George T. Chaney and had two children together Robin and Michael. They later divorced. Jacqueline later married John G. Petrakis. They had one son together John Jeffrey. She lived in Camp Springs, Maryland for many years and then moved to Severna Park in 1967. She then went to work at the Maryland State Treasury in Annapolis, Maryland. She worked there for many years and later retired from there.
She was preceded in death by her husband John George Petrakis, her father Homer C. McIntyre, her mother Evelyn Mae McIntyre, and her brother Homer C. McIntyre Jr. She is survived by her daughter Robin Denise (Chaney) Helwig, and her sons George Michael Chaney, and John Jeffrey Petrakis, 3 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Severna Park United Methodist Church for many years. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, going to Ocean City with childhood friends, swimming, dancing, and playing cards with family and friends, being a homemaker and she liked watching the wildlife out the window of her home in Severna Park. She also loved steam crabs and lobster, listening to music and helping others. She was a good cook.
Friends may visit on Wednesday January 4, 2017 from 2-4 & 6-8:00pm at the Barranco & Sons, P. A Severna Park Funeral Home 495 Ritchie hwy Severna Park, MD 21146. Services will be held on Thursday January 5, 2017 at 11:00am in the funeral home chapel. Interment in the Glen Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
