Jacqueline N. Parris, 77, of Severna Park, died Dec. 9 at Severna Park Center Genesis ElderCare Network.

Born May 19, 1927, in Gulfport, Miss., where she was reared, Mrs. Parris earned a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Georgia in 1948.

She worked as an advertising copywriter for various department stores in Atlanta, Ga. and for Time and Motion Study in Burlington, N.C.

An avid golfer, she was a member of the Bay Hills Womens Golf Association and enjoyed bowling with a local league, taking art lessons at the YMCA, painting, drawing and reading.

Surviving are her husband, William Parris, whom she married in 1950; two daughters, Jan Zehner of Sykesville, Md. and Linda Eileen Parris of Richmond, Va.; one son, Kevin W. Parris of Severna Park; and three grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway in Severna Park. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Pasadena United Methodist Church, 61 Ritchie Highway in Pasadena. Burial will follow in Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.
